Small Skid Steps
These are optional steps that can be added to the main skids of the Vario BK 117. They are placed one on each skid. The Lower Skid Step is used to aid in getting into the passenger section of the cabin. They are placed in line with the sliding door.
Each Lower Skid Step set includes two steps and grip tape for the top. The castings are hallow to reduce the overall weight of the part. The sets can be purchased as "raw castings" or "ready to be installed".
The Lower Skid Step will need to be removed from the "raw casting". It will require washing and it may contain some flashing which will need to be cleaned off. Each step will need the bottom edge shaped to fit the skid tube of your model.
The “ready to be installed” Lower Skid Step will be sanded and will have two coats of primer paint added. The base of the steps will be shaped to fit the skid tube. The grip tape will NOT be applied so that the castings can be painted to match your model.
The Lower Skid Step can be attached to the skid tube with CA or small holes can be drilled for using micro bolts (not included). The Lower Skid Step cannot be used in conjunction with the Skid Ski set (coming out later this year).
