This is the Cowling Inspection Hatch for the Vario BK 117. The Hatch is placed on the front "dog house" cowling above the cockpit. This hatch is are non functional.
The Cowling Inspection Hatch includes one part as shown in the image below. The set is offered as "raw castings" and "ready to be installed".
The Cowling Inspection Hatch will need to be removed from the "raw casting". The part will require washing and it will contain some flashing which will need to be cleaned off. The casting can be applied to the fuselage with CA or epoxy after the surface of both the model and the back of the casting have been lightly sanded.
The “ready to be installed” version will be cleaned, sanded, and will have two coats of primer paint added.
